More importantly, is it compatible with Vista at all which it isn't. Here's a good link to that software which includes many options and later versions: http://www.broderbund.com/c-28-typing-keyboarding.aspx but though most of the later versions say compatible with Vista, none discuss 32-bit vs. 64-bit (so I suppose you'd need to call their customer support line and ask). However, this product costs money and there are plenty of free options available and I don't see where commercial products are all that much better than the free ones if you're dedicated to learning and practice (and that's the key - you need to practice and not cheat and dedicate yourself to it). I learned in High School and on a full ergonomic keyboard can type about 90 WPM but on my laptop where the keys are closer together I slow to about 60 WPM (and I never did quite get good with the numbers and most of the symbols (other than comma, period, semi-colon and colon) without making errors or needing to look or slowing down a lot - so I too may check out these programs with you. And since they're online and don't require downloading, they will of course work fine with 64-bit or 32-bit (and essentially any OS). Here are a few I found that are all online and do not require downloading and should give you loads of practice:

online free touch typing program | keyboarding tutor | Free Typing Games

FreeTypingGame.net - Free Touch Typing Lessons - Comprehensive 30 lesson typing tutor including home row.

Peter's Online Typing Course - Online Typing Lessons for Everyone!

Touch Typing Lessons | Learn to Type | Free Typing Games

Free Typing Games - Online (this one contains several different sites that all offer options).

That should keep you going for a while and get your speed up quite a bit. I can tell you that being able type rather fast (I know some who type much faster than me (150 WPM and maybe more) and I'm amazed to watch them, but I don't think I can ever get that fast no matter how much I practice - some part of it is just innate ability and I think everyone reaches a point where they've reached their own personal maximums. Then it's just a matter of continuing to type so you don't lose the edge) helped me in college and throughout my careers (both of them) and helps me here as well. I know some one finger typists who can get up to 30WPM even, but it seems much more difficult and they'll never be able to get any faster (and I've tried to convince them to learn to type the right way but they're set in their ways and won't change).

I hope this helps and I hope your typing skills improve as well.

Good luck!
