Model: HP Presario dv5 Laptop
OS: Vista Home Premium 32bit
Processor: Intel Core Duo2 2.4ghz
Graphics: Nvidia Gforce 9600m
RAM: 4gb, not sure what brand
Problem: Random freezing
Here's a rough idea of what's happened and what I've tried to fix it:
Could it be some malware or malfunctioning software?
Could I have messed up some of my hardware when I cleaned it?
What do you guys suggest is the problem or what do you recommend I do? It's got me stumped.
If you need any more information, I'll do my best to supply it.
Thanks in advance.

Problem: Random freezing
Here's a rough idea of what's happened and what I've tried to fix it:
- About 2 days ago, I noticed that my laptop had been getting hot more quickly than before (cpu up to 80C from just general web browsing).
- I decided to clean the dust out of it with compressed air (too bad it didn't seem to have any effect).
- That night it began to freeze between 0 and 30 minutes of booting up, even if I hadn't run any programs myself. All windows became unresponsive, ctrl+alt+del didn't work, the caps lock light wouldn't go on but the mouse was still responsive. I had to shut it off with the power switch.
- booted into safe mode; it worked. figure it must be a driver problem
- performed a system restore to a few days before then. Nope, it would still lock up in normal mode.
- updated my video card driver from safe mode. still freezing...
- scans with MalwareBytes AntiMalware, Spybot S&D and NOD32 have turned up nothing suspicious
