I checked it and it says it's not configured it's not enabled either?
Do i just leave it ALONE or configure it?

Hello Puzzeld,

I would recommend to leave it set as Not Configured. Setting it to Enabled in GPEDIT will disable access to the registry for all users.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/116415-regedit-enable-disable.html

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Okay thanks i will leave it as is. :geek:

So how does the registry update?
I used CCleaner to clean my registry it found only minor stuff but i think maybe some unused stuff should stayed, the problem is the backup i saved in documents has disappeared for some reason.
Also there was some active X stuff.
A few weeks ago when i started my notebook Microsoft or my ISP provider>>not sure now>>said it would update drivers.
Thats when i noticed some my Files in my Documents where missing real weird like my CCleaner backup disappeared in Documents.

Think i need to dump that CCleaner yes/no question.
I think using it in the Registry was a stupid thing to do :o

I found 2 files from backup an i think CCleaner made a big mistake here i still have it if you like to look for me.

CCleaner is a great and handy program to use, but I would recommend to never use that registry cleaner feature or any other registry cleaner program. Allowing a registry cleaner to delete something that it should not have could cause you to have to end up reinstalling Vista to fix it. It's just not worth it. Especially if one is not sure of what should be and should not be allowed to be deleted in the registry.

You might consider doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you ran the registry cleaner feature to see if it may be able to undo this for you.

Yes, revo is safe to use, but like all software only when used properly. It has been recommended, by many members to help others. I have suggested its use and used it myself with excellent results. You may want to make a
system restore point before its acual use, in the event of problems, which can occur with any install or uninstall. For instructions see post by Brink.

In answer to your other questions, yes SR will fix registry errors. SR should be considered as an important part of your OS. If restore points are kept up to date in addition to the manual ones which should be made before any change to the OS (points supposedly are made by defualt, but I make one manually, anyway) you will be able to return to a point in time before the problem ocurred.

Since I have helped you in other threads, you seem to be making extensive use of our Forum. All the members are glad that you realize that we provide a valuable service and are using it to the fullest extent. I will gladly provide you with a copy of our Tut index, which you can used to supplement your knowledge of Vista.

Glad that you are happy with the information. But, just wait, if you liked the revo and cclean information, wait unitl you really start to get into those tuts. It is my honest opinion that those tuts represent the best information, on the market, today, including those that come with a price.

Thank you so much for your kind words and rep.
