Reinstalled windows on Emachine

I reinstalled Windows Vista home premium on my Emachine computer, because it was generally just not working right and I did everything I knew of to fix it, there was no virus, nothing. It just locked up all the time.

Anyway, everything seems to be great now, and the computer is working superfast, but when It came back up, my programs such as MS Works are all gone.

Should MS works be on my restore disk, and if so how can I get it back on the computer?

Have you done all the Updates? And what Service pack is the Machine?

MS Works is a Free Update from Microsoft

I did do all the updates, but I didnt do the Service pack unless that would have been one of the automatic updates.

I was looking at the MS website, and MS Works isnt free as far as I can tell. I cant figure out how installing a service pack is going to reload the software?

Some of those programs that you mentioned must be paid for,
It was probably included as bloatware (trial period) before it would no longer work.
Bottom line, they are gone unless you pay for a key.

What is funny, is I actually do have the product key, Like on a small card in my original box the computer came in, Just no disk... That is why I was asking if the software was on the recovery disk...

If you have a valid key, you should have received a DVD.
The restore partition/disc USUALLY does not include all the software that was was purchsed.
I doubt if you would get for free software that has to be paid for.
I would call your vendor.

Thanks. The product is way out of warranty, so I could buy the software cheaper than I could talk to them. But thanks for trying, I will keep looking for the cd.

Sorry I must have been Mistaken It is that I have Microsoft Works 9 and it was Installed through Windows Update and I did not pay for it
