Hi folks.

Just a quick note to let you know that I will no longer be participating in these forums. I rolled my computer back to windows xp due to too many problems with compatiblity issues etc.

I will keep coming back to read, but I don't know how much help I can be without running Vista myself.

Good luck to all!

You can still post XP questions for your next venture to Vista. www.PlanetAMD64.com is another good forum for help.

Now that I Vista 64 working the way it should, and without third party junk like Diskeeper, I can't bring myself to go back to XP espicially since I have 8GB's of Mushkin HP2 6400 ram.

In any case WB to Vista.

Yah, I started out dual booting XP for the first couple of months too, but I haven't started XP in well over 8 months now so that 8G's is going back into the mix..I'll probably add it to my Music partition since it's the next one.
I really couldn't go back to XP now, I'd probably be lost in it now..just about as lost as I was when I first started Vista!! ;)

The only real reason I kept XP was for my scanner, since Agfa went fully Industrial and wasn't making Vista drivers for any of their commercial lines. Heck, they weren't even going to write XP drivers but the backlash from folks who just bought Agfa scanners was overwhelming so they had too.
Now that I have Vuescan, my scanner works even better now in Vista and I no longer need XP for anything.

But I wonder just what compatibility issues you're having Snarky? I've found almost all of the ones I had at the start are pretty much gone now and I'm smooth & stable.

I was toying around with the idea of getting a quad core cpu, but I decided against it. Going to 8GB's of ram for Vista was the better choice, I get better performance out of Vista with 8GB's and don't want to go back to XP very bad.

You will be back, going back to XP only lasts a few days on a normal basis. That's the power of VMWare or Virtual PC, when in doubt create a VM and do the one thing in XP that wouldn't work in Vista. We will hear the post soon that XP was strainful on the eyes soon.

Yea... I did that once... Back when Vista was pre-rtm I went back to XP, for the whole of two days before I realized I couldn't live without the shininess of Vista :D.

Hi folks.

Just a quick note to let you know that I will no longer be participating in these forums. I rolled my computer back to windows xp due to too many problems with compatiblity issues etc.

I will keep coming back to read, but I don't know how much help I can be without running Vista myself.

Good luck to all!

I just couldn't help it. :p

Oh, and welcome back to Vista !
