Samsung 226BW with 8800GTS - Magictune doesn't work

Used the Magictune software under Windows XP (32 bit) no problem. Have the latest drivers installed for both the Samsung monitor and 8800GTS card. But when I install and run Magictune (the 64 bit version) it says it doesn't work with this monitor! Any ideas?

You can't run x64 Apps on a Windows x32! Try getting a 32Bit version.

Oops, just realised his sig says Ultimate x64.. :P
but anyway this is quoted from Samsungs own support page (SAMSUNG’s Digital World - Monitor / Awards)

MagicTune Program is an additional program for monitor products.
Some of the computing system installed either old or the latest video card can not be compatible with Magic Tune.
Please visit the MagicTune Website for technical support for MagicTune.

What I was saying in my original post was that it all worked well when I ran Windows XP. Now that I've upgraded to Vista x64 it doesn't work when I use the 64-bit version of the software (still the same monitor).

Oh well, I'll put it down to a combination of Vista x64 and the 64-bit version not supportingthe same monitors as the older XP 32-bit version of Magictune.

Are you using a Windows XP x64 application? Because is it (apparently) different from the Vista x64 application...

My Computer

I am using vista 64, with a samsung 226bw. anybody know where to get vista drivers for this? the software that came with the 226 is only for xp

My Computer

Hi Panzer,

You can get the driver here. The latest version is 1.0. Just click on the icon under File to download it. I'm not sure if Vista means for both the 32 bit and 64 bit or not since they have XP and XP64 listed too. You can give it a try and see with the Vista or XP64 one.

Hope this helps,

Hi. I have a 226BW and am running Vista 64x. I tried all sorts of things to get this Magictune but it just doesn't seem to work in 64 bit.
Over the last few days MS Update tried to download an update for Samsung 226BW but it failed. I've tried to do it manually but cannot so I don't know what difference it might have made.
On the other hand. The drivers that Vista found automatically make it look fantastic, great colour and definition etc.
I can't think that Magictune could improve on it so I stopped worrying about it months ago and just enjoy this great monitor.:D John

You're totally right, Magic Tune does not work. I'm glad the buttons on the side of the T240 have the magic tunes functions (Gaming, Internet, etc.).
