Screen goes blank

I have a computer here that starts up fine...can see the windows logos and then goes blank...I can start it up in Safe Mode with networking with no issues.

SO it seems the error is somewhere in the utilization of the Extra files and registry settings the NON-Safe Mode is using. Does that seem logical? Anyone have an other ideas. I dont have a recovery disk...is there a free tool out there that will scan and fix malware and registry settings? FREE...like really free not do 1/4 the job and ask for money.

Thanks
Jay
