Search does not work

I can't search my computer. When I start to type in something the search eyeglass changes to an X, and nothing happens. I'am using vista home premium 64 bit.

Hello and welcom, i would try running my antivirus and a malwarebytes scan, Do a full scan of your installed program and use Free version of this, run full scan also : Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer
