security center won't start

Yesterday I got a virus which brought up a false security window. I downloaded Malwarebytes which removed the malware causing the virus. I also have AVG on my computer. Today when I open my Security Center, it says the service is turned off. When I click to turn it on, I get a red X, saying it cannot be started. I have read multiple forums to fix this problem, but none have worked for me. One says to type Services in the start search, and check that Security Center is on. However, Security Center does not show up in my list when I open Services (only security accounts is there). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Go back one week before the problem began, if you are sure of the virus start date. Then use system restore to make everything good, again.

I'm having similar issues and have run out of ideas. All settings are correct yet I keep getting the 'security center can't start' message. Need help.
