Hey dzomlija

Sorry to hear about your "old" rig :(
Glad you get to start your "new" one.

One question: Are you going to run RAID0 again ???

Later Ted

Hell no. Even if I could, I wouldn't.

Prometheus, huh? Interesting choice:

"Prometheus was the son of Iapetus who was one of the Titans. He tricked the gods into eating bare bones instead of good meat. He stole the sacred fire from Zeus and the gods. Prometheus did not tell Zeus the prophecy that one of Zeus's sons will overthrow him. In punishment, Zeus commanded that Prometheus be chained for eternity in the Caucasus. There, an eagle (or, according to other sources, a vulture) would eat his liver, and each day the liver would be renewed. So the punishment was endless, until Heracles finally killed the bird. Prometheus is known to be one of the most interesting characters in Greek Mythology."

Yeah, well, considering that I'm using the Phenom processor, I considered calling her "Undertaker", but that name is already in use, so I stuck with my original choice, Prometheus.

Are you sure it's wise keeping you rig on the floor like that? Besides the obvious possibility of static discharges off of the carpet, aren't you worried that someone will accidentally kick it or something?

I can see the headlines already .... "death by carpet"
Dude?? Your computer is on a carpet??
That would be a shame to see your components fry like that.
It happened to a friend of mine...he just heard a big spark, and it was game over.

While not exactly the same situation, the end results are the same - I lost my AMD Athlon 4800+ Dual rig to lighting, and it took two weeks to have the insurance sort it out.

The last thing you want is your rig blown up by a stray static discharge, or someones foot, or a cat that hasn't found the new location of his litter box yet.

Get that baby onto a desk, pronto. You don't want to have to go through what I have...

Good choice for a gamer...Prometheus is considered responsible for bringing fire to humans, in Greek mythology of course...

How's this for karma - I chose the name "Prometheus" for my new computer, because I wanted her to represent power and technology, the same gifts that the Greek god Prometheus gave to mankind when he stole fire from the gods.

Now, a few days after building Prometheus, I see the pilot episode of "Knight Rider 2008", and K.I.T.T is a part of something called the Prometheus program, something that started 25 years ago with the original K.I.T.T. And I got started with computers about 25 years ago myself...

Or it's just one helluva coincidence!
