Nice setup indeed. Great pics too, you must be happy with your D90. Where did you get that end table that you put your computer case is and the printer on? I've been looking for something like that. I suppose if it gives you a problem your just gonna shoot it....LOL. Enjoy your build,
Jakeman97

Thanks for the reply and the info. I know a lot of people make these kind of things at home; but I'm no good with wood.

So sorry to hear about your fire ShArKy! My son's house half-burned down too, a couple of years ago, but fortunately, thanks to his fire insurance, he actually ended up (after all the grief and stress and trauma) with a nicer house -- one with all the changes he would've liked to have made but, until the fire insurance money, couldn't afford. Hopefully, after you rebuild, you will end up with something nicer/better too!

Here's information with pictures/graphics about my laptop (the primary computer I use shipped 11/29/2006): http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins9400/en/om/about.htm#wp1043338 - though it has been upgraded from XP to Vista (but otherwise remains the same as when purchased).

It's under full 24-hour guaranteed in-home service warranty (after trying online to be sure an online visit is required) for about another year - just bought that about a month ago so there would be no lapse and it would be approved (and I can extend it furter if necessary/desired later this year - which I will probably do depending on news about Windows 8 since I want to be certain my next computer is fully compatible with Windows 8). I do not intend to build my own - my needs don't require that, I don't have the patience to do it, and I'd rather have a good warranty on the unit as opposed to limited ones on the individual components.

The only two downsides I have with the E1705 are it maxes at 2GB RAM (which really isn't an issue given how I use it) and it cannot be upgraded to W7 without replacing the motherboard, graphics card, and processor (making it not upgradable for all intents and purposes - but again not really an issue because I hope to bypass W7 and go from Vista to new computers using Windows 8). All other computers will only be replaced if they die beyond reasonable repair (which has never happened with any computer I've ever owned, but no doubt now eventually will as it's virtually inevitable) and I decide I still need that extra one.

I have a briefcase and box filled with peripherals (GPS unit, AV attachments, webcam, external hard drive, external DVD+RW drive and burner, digital tablet,...). I hope most are compatible with Windows 8.

Dell 940 AIO Printer is attached to another (desktop) computer downstairs and connected to that and all active computers (and also the computers to each other) by wireless network through Linksys router with attached Verizon-provided DSL modem. All computers currently in use and most of the later ones no longer in use are Dell (and have been exclusively since Dell first started). At present, I have no need to upgrade from DSL given our usage - but it isn't out of the question.

I have several other computers that are still in use (and a few more that are no longer used but were functioning fine the last time used them) for my wife and for different situations and in different places throughout the house like the other 2 bedrooms, our offices, the den, and the library - and they use either Vista or XP except the unused ones in the basement which can go back to Windows 95 (including Windows Server 2003 on the Dell server which isn't used anymore) - possibly even DOS 5.0 but I havent turned that one on in so many years I can't remember but it too was working when it was last turned off). But I won't go into them as the first listed laptop is really "my rig."

Thats the Standard laptop Every student at my school gets :D
