sleep mode problem

When I wake my computer from sleep mode I do it by clicking the mouse. Lately, when I try and wake it, it makes all the sounds of waking but I get a dark gray screen. I can see just a tiny strip on top which shows that the page is up and running but it's covered over by a gray screen.

Make, model, desktop, laptop ect

I have a Hewlett Packard Pavillon Desktop a1700n.

This seems a common fault with your system and it seems to boil down to the Graphics driver
I can not advise you as to which driver you should use to correct the fault however i do believe that if you reduce your screen resolution it can act as a work around until you find a suitable driver or someone else here is able to assist you

You my find dxdiag.exe useful to determine which graphics card you have

type dxdiag into the start search and click the display tab and locate :device :Name
