Slow connection problem

Yesterday i was playing Modern Warfare 2 and everything was fine, i had no connection problems. But, today when i got onto the computer it showed that i was sharing media files with DAWN-PC. I thought nothing of it and denied it. I then went into Modern Warfare 2 and joined a game. Here is where things went wrong. I was experiencing very high ping (with the single orange bar). I could barely move without it warping me everywhere. I thought it was just the server so i left and connected to another one. Same thing. I exited and did a Diagnose and Repair for my internet. It came up with this:

.

I have noticed that my Download speed is half as slow as it usually is. The troubleshoot talks about trying to connect with another computer. The only computer that this one is connected to is my parents' laptop and it's off. My brother shares the PC with me, so i asked if he had been on it and have done something. He said he wasn't on lately. I did some scans with Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes and they both came up with nothing.

It is now impossible to play games for me. Any help please?

Im not really big on game problems, but I do have this excellent post on possible remedies to problems. Toward the end of the post there are suggestiions about connection problems. Hope it can help to some extent

The only other thing that I can suggest in addition to the above is to try to play with a clean boot. If the game performs satisfactorily, use the clean boot procedure to try and correct the problem.
