What is shown in Control Panel\Device Manager\Sound....................?

It looks to me like you need to reinstall the sound manager, such as Realtek, for your motherboard.

i have already reinstalled realtek audio manager, in Control Panel\Device Manager\Sound....

Hauppauge Win TV HVR-1800 (Model 78xxx, Combo ATSC/QAM)
Realtek High Definition Audio

none of those have a yellow caution symbol.

i tryed that factory reset on in themonitors menu, it seems to have fixed the mass amount of crackling, ingames there is no crackling but it still crackles when somthing starts up and when closing, so i guess the problem is fixed, thanks you very much, now i know i don't need a system restore to fix that problem, all i needed to do is press 3 buttons and done.....but thanks for the help, i never had anyone reply as fast as you do and well you can be counted as one of the few that help fix a problem of mine, not many can...idk they just can't lol.

[Edit} i do have 1 or 2 problems, 1 being a problem the other mostly a question, but ill post a new thread for the problem, i'll name the thread, "hard drive not what it use to be"

[Edit2} where would i post a help thread on hard drives? on these forums that is.

Thanks for the nice comment.

I'm glad resetting the monitor helped but that still doesn't explain why you don't have any software shown in the Playback tab. I guess the speakers are not plug and play, which I can't imagine, or they're not hooked up correctly. Perhaps the power supply for the subwoofer isn't working. I assume it has a power supply transformer and, most likely, a switch for adjusting volume. It would provide the power for the satellite speakers.

Does the onboard motherboard speaker work?

i did not know that there was an onboard motherboard speaker, idk if its working.
the sub woofer does have volume conrol that you plug into it, and the power is working, a green light comes on when i turn the volume on, plus i here the speakers make a little bump noise when the volume is turned on for the sub woofer, i guess it is not a plug0N-play as you said, no matter, i am still wundering where on these forums i could post about hard drive help?, plus do you know about duo quad core proccessers?

You can post in the General Discussion about hard drive problems. You can do the same thing for processor problems. I apologize if I'm steering you to the wrong subforum because I didn't look to see what the names of the subforums are.

I don't know anything about your system. I assume it's a PC. Do you know what your motherboard is? Do you have any discs with drivers that came with your system?

Go to Control Panel, Adminstrator Tools, Services. Find Plug and Play. Is it shown as started? If you click on it are you given the option to restart it?

i don't know what mother board i have, i tryed going to the plug and play thing, and can only see the option reset computer options, in the plug and play properties, i can right click on it and it does show an option to reset but it won't let me click it, its in gray letters.

[edit} my motherboard is "IPIBL-LB (Benicia)"

[edit2} the speakers i have are "Creative Inspire 5200", i searched up issues like mine and alot of people are having same issue, but all that got their issue solved, i tryed and still can't get the speakers to play sound, from what others are saying, my speakers are plug-N-play

According to the Hp website (Motherboard Specifications, IPIBL-LB (Benicia) | HP® Support), your mobo has ALC888S integrated audio. If your system is an Hp, I recommend that you go to the Hp website and find the audio driver for your system and download/install it.

I don't have any more time this morning to help with this.

Let's try something different before working on the driver.

Go to Control Panel, Sound. In the Sounds tab, is Windows Default (modified) selected? If it is, turn off or mute the speakers on your monitor. Click on Asterisk and then Test. Do you hear any sounds.

Windows Default is selected but its not modified, and turning the monitor volume to 0 and testing Asterisk, no sound is coming out of the speakers.

The point of that exercise is to see if the speaker on the mother board is working. It's not so you need to get the driver for your motherboard. What is the model number of your computer?

[edit} i don't understand what im looking for, "Fall 2008 original driver for the Realtek High Definition audio driver"? but i have a more up to date version of that driver, and i don't think that has to do with the motherboard.

I would try the reinstall the original driver. The other driver is for a LAN (don't know what difference it makes).

Are you using a grounded plug on the computer cable? Is it plugged into a grounded outlet or are you using a cheater (three prong to two prong adapter)? What about the monitor?

ill try to reinstall the original driver and do a factory reset right after, see what that does, because im 99% sure its the monitors speakers that are messed up, when the pc's volume is at 0 the monitor's speakers still give off some crackle, my monitor has a power cord and a hdmi cord that supports the video and audio, the hdmi cord is plugged into my graphics card as it is the only thing that has an hdmi plugin on my pc, i don't think i can update my graphics card because it is no longer supported as there was a recall for it and the site did state that it was no longer going to be supported for future updates, ill look for the page i seen before, im trying to get a vga cord so i don't have to use the hdmi anymore, im sure that will fix all my audio problems, as the connection on the monitor is wiggly and loose, must be slightly broken, i may still be able to send in the graphics card for the new one but i don't think that will help the hdmi connection that the monitor has, my conclution, the audio on my monitor soeaers is crackling because is the loose connection of my hdmi cord port on the monitor, i can try to see why its loose and maybe straighten it out for a tighter fit, but i won't be able to fix any true tech damage, ill get back to you when i find out if it was fixible, p.s. im not working on it if its still plugged in haha.

i found that the page is gone but someone had the message and posted it on a forums, here is the message....(next post)

[Edit} ok so i seen that the metal around the pluggin was abit bent, so i tryed to straighten it out but the monitors hdmi plugin is still loose and wiggly, the hdmi plugin on the graphics card is tight, i won't be able to get it that tight, so my guess is that i should just use a vga cord for my display and find my green audio cord that i used when i first got my pc, at least untill i can get a new monitor.

Excessive Fan Noise from GeForce 9500GS Graphics Card

This document only pertains to HP and Compaq Desktop PCs with
GeForce 9500GS Graphics Cards.

Certain GeForce 9500GS graphics cards by MSI Logistic LLC produce
excessive, noticeable buzzing, rattling, or scratchy sounds
coming from the graphics card fan. MSI Logistic LLC is providing
modified GeForce 9500GS graphics cards that help prevent excessive
fan noise. Modified graphics cards contain a fan shroud that is
blue. Previous GeForce 9500GS graphics cards have black fan
covers.

To find out if your computer is eligible for a replacement
graphics card, click one of the links below to continue to MSI
Logistic's GeForce 9500GS Graphics Card Replacement Program
website for HP and Compaq Desktop PCs. MSI Logistic LLC is

[Edit} mine is the one with the black fan cover but i never sent it in so i will not gt a replacment for it.

ok so i unistalled my audio device in device manager and checked for hardware changes then t reinstalled it, after it was finished, i did a factory reset on my monitor and it seems to have worked so i guess its somthing else, man! this is confusing, im going to try other games to see if i can get it to crackle if not then i guess its fixed, untill i need to do that all over again.

[Edit} ok so i tested youtube videos and it crackled after 2 songs, i really don't know what to do, i have a feeling that once i switch hdmi for vga it will still crackle.

[Edit2} ya it wont play sound now, just crackles every now and again.
