Ok. Here we go for the 100000000000000000000 time.
I have a Home Premium x64 version. Then I tried to install the SP1 and it failed. So I mailed Microsoft:
I tried to install Vista SP1 for X64 based systems via Windows Updated and it failed with the code 8004005. I tryied installing it in safe mode but the problems persisted.
Then I had the answer:
Possible causes:
1. The user account that was used to install Microsoft Update does not have administrative credentials.
2. The account name that was used to install Microsoft Update contains double-byte characters. For example, this issue occurs if the account name contains kanji characters, hiragana characters, or katakana characters.
Instructions:....
After that I followed the instructions, changing my acc name, booting in clean mode but NOTHING, Nothing happened and the same ERROR happened.
Now, I got another error and, as if it was not enough, I am geting BLUE SCREENS with the error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL...And the SP1 decided to change the error type too!!!, it now shows the 0X8007000D error code... And The MS Support did NOT replyed when I told that the Instructions Failed too, what is making me get nervous about this hell and Vista.
WOW, I get several errors!!! One after another!!!!
Vista DVD built: 28/04/2008....Is it better than the 2006 version? ¬¬
Now, Please, I am asking for the last time, Cause I bough Vista!!!! Does anyone really know what to do???? Don't tell me to ask for MS support...It seems to have failed.
