Star wars empire at war Gold pack an windows 7 64bit

Hi I have read some people have been able to install empire at war gold pack on their machines running windows 7 64bit. I am just trying to figure out how they have been able to. every exe I click I keep getting it is not a valid win32 bit program or something along those lines. please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try running it compatibility mode. Make older programs run in this version of Windows - Windows Help
