Solved Star Wars: The Old Republic

Let it be known. This is for the FIRST game. Not the second.

When I start the game this happens.


I restarted, tried it again. Same Error.

I uninstalled it. Restarted. Installed under Win XP Service Pack. Same Error.

I made sure the exe is under the Win XP Service Pack. Same Error.

I even tried the "change the mss32.dll in the directory." Same Error.

I did the built-in system scan in the game configure. It's not the best but it should still play.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thx.✔

Hello Hrimfaxi,

Try installing it with all third party services disabled:

• Press the Windows Key + R
• In the Run Commnad type: msconfig
• Select the "Services" tab
• Check the box entitled, "Hide All Microsoft Services"
• Click "Disable all"
• Click "Apply"
• Click "OK"
• Restart your computer and re-install

As this game is only four years old, it should run OK on Vista.

Your system specs are close to the limit, but as you say, it should still run.

You can try and update you video drivers, sound drivers, and chipset drivers, in the hope that new drivers will improve performance.

What graphics card do you have ?.
Does this machine play other games ?.

I'm not even sure if I have a graphics card. If I do its probably not very good.

A few other games have worked fine.
-Portal, Counter-Strike, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Lego Batman & Star Wars, Star Wars: Knights of the Force, Deer Hunter 05, even a Flight Simulator worked.

Well, my Video card is an "Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family" which apparently is not good enough. Thats a good site to have.

I still don't get why the Error message was scrambled. Oh well, thx. ✔
