Solved Start Menu All Programs List - how to not show recent programs

I do not want to see any of the programs at the top of the list of All Programs (especially Internet Explorer). I just want to see the program folders listed, preferably sorted by newest or most recently modified first, by alphabetically would be OK. How to get rid of the 8 programs shown in here? Thanks.

Thanks but neither of those seem to work for this particular issue. I think these programs are not recently used programs after all. They seem to be not contained in folders, therefore they appear at the top of the all programs list. I have tried each step in the tutorials and these 8 programs still appear. Thanks.

Hello Dick,

The left screenshot are pinned programs in the Start Menu instead. You should be able to right click on them and click on either Remove from this list or Unpin from Start Menu to remove them one by one.

The right screenshot are shortcuts in the Start Menu. You should be able to right click on them and click on Delete to remove them.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

The right screenshot are shortcuts in the Start Menu. You should be able to right click on them and click on Delete to remove them.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks Shawn, that's it! I thought that deleting them via right click was going to delete the programs instead of shortcuts.
