Solved Startup problems, BSODs, critical error shutdowns

Now every morning I have to go through startup repair and then it restores to the last time it started. I tried rolling back my graphic driver and although the computer seems to run better, I am still having problems with startup. I tried another rootkit scan with Avast, but it crashed. Maybe I should write them a letter. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Based upon everything that we know, it looks like your harddrive. You must remember that we are not there and go by only what we are told. You may want to check it out by someone that has expertise in that area before spending money, however.

I just wanted to let you know. I think I have solved my problem. It turns out that an update on my virus progam was probably causing all this havoc. I had to uninstall it and reinstall a new version. I'll have to keep and eye on everything for awhile, but it seems like my startup problems are gone. That's a good start(no pun intended).

Thanks for all the help from everyone.
