STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}

I recently posted on here and got fast, great help. Now my friends computer is having trouble and I thought I would turn here again. Here is the issue.

When trying to boot I get the following blue screen:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Verification of of a knownDLL failed, system process terminated unexpectedly, with a status of 0x0000020 (0x90ac4390 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.


Here is what I know about the laptop: It is a HP Pavillion dv6000, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5250 1500MHz, 2 gigs of memory, running Windows Vista. When I go into the bios I don't see the info on the hard drive.

Hi Daniel, Welcome to VF,

Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
Zip up the copy
Post it here

I cannot get into windows through normal booting or safe mode

Try Startup Repair (Repair this Computer at the top of the Safe Mode screen on an HP)
Also try rstrui.exe from the Command Prompt in the Startup Repair menu (System Restore).

If that doesn't work, then it's time to break out the restore disks.
If you don't have them, call HP (1-800-HPINVENT) and order a set.
About $20 (US) and it'll take around 4 days for them to arrive.

hehe, ya I tried system restore... didn't work, I will inform her she needs to order some, thanks
