strange problem

Hi!
I am a new user of windows vista home premium, I have been suffering from a strang problem somtimes I open any file some of the thing remove from my destop and my mouse's right click didn't work
here is the picture of my problem


please help me otherwise i have to go back to xp

Hello Affan, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If you have recently tried to change or remove the shortcut arrow overlay icon, then this will show you how to restore the default shortcut arrow to fix the shortcut icons.

If this is not the case, then you can try a System Restore using a restore point dated before this happened to hopefully fix it.

First of all thanks for replying me but guys you can't understand my problem i happen some times that i am listening songs or playing games that during this i open any other file my start menu doesn't work many icons rremove from the taskbar

Affan, I would recommend doing the System Restore option posted above. If it has not happened to long a go, you may be able to fix it with that.

i used system restore option but it didn't work please help me out

Have you tried using older restore point dates?

Do you remember if you installed or changed anything before this started?

Thank you brink for reply but this problem is not permanent it just happened any time i can't click anywhere, the programs from my taskbar goes right and left when i click on start menu it sows a emty box(only borderline) and when i restart my windows it backs to normal

Possibly a video driver issue. You might uninstall and reinstall this driver to see if it may help. Double check to be sure that you have the latest driver version as well.

nohting happened now i have the latest video driver please solve my problem otherwise i have to install windows xp

You might try a clean reinstall of Vista followed by all of your drivers and Windows Updates. Be sure to backup anything that you do not want to lose first though.

Sounds like an overheating issue, to me.
