Stretched screen

Okaaay, so when I turned my computer back on earlier (I hadn't done anything before), the screen was like all stretched? I've tried switching it off and back on, and nothing changes. I've searched for similar problems like this, I've tried many of them, and nothing works for me.

So does anyone have any ideas I could try?

Can be several things
Reset resolution
Reset DPI.
Go to search type device manager; update graphics and monitor driver.

Run a full anti virus scan, download and run a full scan with malwarebytes.

Recently, I experienced a similar problem it was due to a monitor driver update. I knew what the problem was, immediatley, because I set my windows update to notify and not install. The problem happened as soon as I installed.

Okay, so I typed into search "device manager" and it came up with this:

I don't like see the options you said? So I'm a bit confused again.

Click on the little arrow near monitor and the same for display devices. You will be able to update. Click on the screen that comes down and then go to driver tab.
Be sure to read my updated post.


The method above is not the best way to update drivers, but will work in a pinch.

If the date that you see, for your current driver, is very curren, try a roll back of drivers.

I looked at both of those, and they say "the best driver software for your device is already installed"

So how would I try the rollback of drivers thing you suggested? (Sorry about my awful computer skills).

Before we roll back, go to the drivers in question and look at the dates, if they are not really current, a month or so, dont roll back, try my other suggestions.

On the monitor one, it says: 21/06/2006
On the driver adapter one, it says: 16/01/2009

Think I might need to roll back. :L

OK those are old dates, which means that your problem is not caused by a conflict caused by a new driver. As a lost restort we can try to update by going to the website of the manufacturer.
Try the DPI and resolution now. Also read my first post again, which I updated. This should be easy to fix, although it may take time trying to find the precise cause.
