It is: 4 x 1024 and 2 x 2048 sticks, so 6 sticks all together

No wonder. Take out the 2 x 2048. Did you look at your motherboards manual for triple channel config? Take out the above sticks and reboot.

I just checked my sticks and I actually have 4 single 2gb sticks.. I tried to move them around a bit and then checked the BIOS but still: 2048MB installed.. :(
Any particular order they should be in? I don't have a manual for my motherboard..

so 8 gigs. are they all the same timing? same latency? same speed?

try putting one kind in at a time and check their specs with cpu-z.

then switch to the other

hope this helps

Don't use ECC. Not sure if that was discussed...

Yes, for 1/3/5 OR 2/4/6 - do you have six slots per documentation?

Now I have taken out one and placed them like 1/3/5
Windows says 6gb RAM which is right, but the memory is still just 2GB....
Gonna try 2/4/6
maybe one of the sticks is broken?

Really didn't make any sense to me. But well :D Maybe the one I have placed at "4" isn't working or something? well!! It's fixed! Finally!!
