system running slow and freezing having continous application, exception EUIB and runtime errors what can i do

Check for virus. Try running with firewall and A/V off
Go to start, type event viewer and look for anything marked error.


Go to an administrative account

In search type cmd

In cmd type sfc /scannow

This will test and hopefully correct any corruption.

If it finds errors run it through a few times.

If this just started recently, go back to a good point in time with system restore.

finally got to the prompt type in sfc/scannow it ask for 3 disk pack which i don't have tried check disk showed errors but cannot go any further i am in read only mode

Possibly, that is why I am having a problem with an answer. This is a Vista forum. Vista and Windows 7 are similar, but XP is not.
