I am not so sure that it will be as fast as MS wishes. After all, for companies it is a substantial investment - software, hardware and especially education. And people will be screaming and kicking because they are too lazy to learn new stuff. The introduction of Win7 will probably go along with new hardware - and that only when they really need it.
People like you and me will certainly be quicker than the bulk of the industry because for us it is a relatively small investment (especially with an OEM edition) and we do not mind to learn new things.
Another big market will probably be the netbooks. I understand that they will come out with a completely new and much more powerful hardware line (CPU and Chipset) and that combined with an SSD might give those toys a boost in combination with Win7.
