TSST corp CDDVDW TS-L632H ATA device

I got a firmware for download on this link:

Toshiba, Samsung and TSST Firmware RPC1 Regionfree and original

It seems the right one, & it`s for an Asus computer. I`m just worried, if it`s not the right one, I guess I could do a system restore to correct it. I just don`t want to spoil a drive that works well in every other sense!!

Maybe I should download the liveupdate again (I already uninstalled it), & run it as an administrator, see if that works.

Try the LiveUpdate thing again. System Restore has no effect on firmware as once it is installed, that's it, because it installs on the drive itself, not the system. The only thing you can do is try to install the old firmware again.

Thanks for that, I didn`t know. I`ll try the Live update then, Thanks!

The live update still doesn`t work for my model, & I`ve been all over the Samsung odd website & there a lot of models TS-L632H, but none with the version AS02.

I think I`m gonna give up & just carry on using my old DVD- discs, because it doesn`t seem I`m gonna find the right one. No luck at all on the ASUS website, no reply to my post in the forum either (no surprise there!). I bought those memorex DVD+, so I would have loved to use them, but if it`s gonna spoil my current driver it shouldn`t be a big price to pay!

AS02 I would assume is Asus Firmware for that drive.

Memorex isn't a particularly good brand I hate to say. There's a great group that will advise you on the best disks to use.

Thanks for the link, I`m giving it a good read. To be honest, those Memorex are the ones they had at the shop on the day I decided to buy some DVD+R to try, but I always buy Verbatim, DVD-R. I didn`t know that Memorex weren`t that good.
I guess I can only wait to get some sort of response on the thread I posted on the ASUS site about this firmware, cos it seems to be the best place to go. As I said, I found that link for firmware that seems to be the right one, but isn`t it better to downloaded from the laptop`s manufacturer own site? To make sure it`s the right one.
I`ll post it if I get an answer, so I can put the link here, just in case someone else is having the same problems with firmware for this driver!
Thanks so much for your patience & help! I`m not that experienced in this matters, this is only my first computer...just trying to learn a bit at a time!

I just came across this site where it identifies your drive as two numbers: Samsung SN-S082H / TS-L632H
There are also some comments from people about wonky firmware: Samsung SN-S082H / TS-L632H
Good luck!!
