well today i used the computer in the morning with no problems. When my husband used it later he went to his side and was surprised to see that his desktop picture was gone and replaced by a generic one. He also lost his icons and could not connect to the internet from his side. He switched to my side and it was normal. He did a system restore and managed to get everything back to normal. Any ideas of what may have happened?? We have not downloaded any new programs or anything like that.

We leave the computer in sleep mode when not in use.

It sounds like it may have been one of these "User Profile" type errors. A system restore is a common way to repair this.
