The first thing I do when I install Vista is disable UAC as it bugs the crap out of me, just wondering is everybody else the same?

Disabling UAC

It bugged the crap out of me until I found out how to disable it, I pretty sure when I tell it to move a file that I'm certain I want to move thank you Vista.

My Computer

I think it was a good move for people who "accidently" click their way around Explorer windows moving stuff around, but it's not for me. I know what I'm doing.. and there's always system restore :P

UAC = Garbagio

UAC sucks! :mad: It didn't last 10 minutes into my first Vista install. Now, the 1st thing I do is turn that annoying crap off. If only they had made it's configuration granular so I could say ask me for this, this and that, but do not bother me for x, y, and z. MS should have put a lot more thought into that 'feature' because right now it's much more of a hinderance.

My Computer

I disabled it when at first, as it was becoming a problem when reinstalling software. I turned it back on recently, and it hasn't been quite as annoying as it was before, so I've left it on.

Its really not as big of a problem as people make it out to be unless you're installing tons of things at once.

My biggest gripe with it is I can't Right Click + "Extract Here" when I have a RAR file using WinRar. I have to manually open it and extract it.

My Computer

I know what UAC is but I still voted for the last one cuz I liked the 'WTF' part.

I still have it on though. I know it won't be bothering me too much once everything is installed and good. Another reason I didn't turn WTF UAC off is that because Windows Vista seemed to like to keep everything where everything is from default, and how it was even though they are customizable. One example is moving the Favorites folder to D drive. I couldn't add any more favorites after that.

My Computer

I would certainly like to turn UAC off as it annoys me. However, when I do it, I am not allowed to run files from the Temp folder - how can I solve this problem?
