Solved Update drivers problems

my driver scan programs are saying that i need a 'standard dual pci ide controller' driver update. when i try to find an update it says i must have certain OS's. mine is a HP Windows Vista 64 bit system. the update program says i must have a '32' bit system. Whats up with this?

i cannot find an update that says anything for 64 bit systems?

i have ran an update for my AMD AHCI Raid controller as well and my driver update program says it still is out of date? i am using 'Driver Detective'.

i have an HP Pavillion dv5z-1000 CTO Notebook with Vista Home Premium 64bit OS

Hello neojoneswd and welcome to the forums

I would highly advise you stay away from these driver scanner/updater programs, I used to use DriverScanner until it installed an update for my wireless card that wasn't supported by the rest of my computer. It essentially killed my internet connection until I fixed it, but it wasn't half a faff to fix.

It is much better to download the drivers from the manufacturers' websites directly rather than using 3rd party software
