Hey there, Hope this is in the right section...
I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit running on my Acer Aspire 7535... I am wanting to upgrade to 7, but have been faced with a very confusing problem.
When I put my win7 disk in and open the setup (from within vista) I am asked if i would like to install x64 or x86 windows 7, and here's the confusing bit... regardless of what one of these I choose, i am faced with this error message report:
This just baffled me... It appears that the windows 7 setup doesn't think that my vista is either 32 or 64 bit.
I'm lost, any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks and kind regards,
Dom

You can’t upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.
32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc.
This just baffled me... It appears that the windows 7 setup doesn't think that my vista is either 32 or 64 bit.
