User profile service failed to logon

Im having some problems and im kinda new at this but my computer has no admin prvilages and im unable to get any since my admin account is not working
every time i try to log in i get this strage little message "user profile service failed to logon"
i know this is a vista forum but im a running a windows 7 x64 bit and i REALLY NEED HELP im sad because i tried all the solutiosn and none work. I also looked through a forum that was very interesting but the solution did not work for me

Ok so the problem is that i can't even get onto an admin account because mine is unable to login and i only have another guest account safe mode also does not open any of my accounts and i was wondering is ther a way to gain access or make a new account without using command prompt or anything that has admin privalages
i tried tehe forum and what it suggested , it suggested that i rename the regiestry keys but i am unable to because whenever i do i get the message " the regiestry key cannot be renamed , error well renaming " here are some screen shots of the regedit

I also don't want to reisntall the system or lose the files in that account however im nto sure but when i open up [the /computer/C:/users] My folder has 0 bytes when i go to properties ):

Have you already tried to see if you could enable the built-in Administratot account while in Safe Mode as in STEP 1 of the tutorial below?

If you have, then you might try doing a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before you had this error to see if it may be able to fix it for you.

Hi Shawn,

My only (administrator) account is displaying this "failed to logon" error message. I tried doing a system restore in safe mode, but somehow all of my restore points have been deleted so it says that there are no restore point for my computer to access. Is there any way I can create a restore point to before all of this happened? ...or does this mean I'm doomed forever and all of my files on my only user account are gone forever

i also tried to follow the helpful tutorial, but for some reason "regedit" does not even open when I type it into the search/I'm in safe mode.

i should let you know that i'm not very tech savvy so please bear with me and try to use simple computer-related vocabulary.

If you have a retail Vista installation disc, then you could do a Custom install. This will be like doing a clean install of Vista, but all of your current installation files will be saved into a C:\Windows.old folder in the new installation that you can copy your files back from. You will still need to reinstall all programs and drivers though.

The sad thing is that i dont have any discs and also Brink is it possibble to add a new account using regedit and create it as admin ? becasue i only have one admin account the other is guest and i have no privalges as guest so changing the system or "running as admin" won't do anything because i am unable to do so

Sorry, but you cannot create a user account through the registry.

Do you have a OEM (ex: Dell, Gateway, etc...) computer that has a factory recovery partition that you could use to do a factory restore with.

D; i dont have any of the discs T_T and i dont want to lose all my files anotehr question: if you want to do a system restore did you have to set it up previously on your computer? i dont even know what heppened to my computer i went on , then loged off to take a shower, when i got back on and logged into my account my account showed but my wallpaper and settings were all gone however my files were there, thinking this was just glitchy i shut down my computer and boot it up again. when i boot it up and try to enter my account i get this error
i am however usinga windows 7 but im wondering because its the same problem aas the vista one

System Restore is turned on by default in Windows 7, and will automatically create restore points when changes are made to the system.

You could try to create a Windows 7 System Repair Disc, then use it to do a system restore at boot to select a restore point dated before this error to hopefully be able to fix this.

Yes, you can do a system restore with a retail Windows 7 installation disc.

I LOVE YOU MAN I LOVE YOU SO MUCH ! like seriously yes i was able to open up my account in safe mode i dont know why or how i think i tried it once and it didn't work or something but it did MAN I LOVE YOU ! i did a system restore and everythings working perfectly and i made a new admin account jsut incase of this occurs again ! You're most welcome Jonathan. I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted.

This is caused by corruption of the user account by one reason or another. There's to many possible reasons to give a specific one.
