Vista 32 - Spelling Error in address bar?

New Member
I am running Vista 32 with IE 7. My problem is with the address/url bar. I have to type the "www." before each url or I get an error that reads "Windows can not find "". Check the spelling and try again." This happens with every url I type in. As soon as I add the "www." it goes right to the site.

How do I eliminate having to type the "www."? I never had to do it in XP?

Hi Jim and welcome to the forums

There is a shortcut that you can use - this is 'Ctrl'+enter/return. This appends 'http://www.' to the left and '.com/' to the right. For example, this forum is 'vistax64', so you would enter that into the address bar and then use the shortcut. It would then appear as ''.
