Especially when dealing with your motherboard BIOS you should follow the age old advice of "If it ain't brok, don't fix it!".
You should be able to install Vista x64 without any issue on that motherboard. Update the BIOS only if you have any specific problems that can be traced back to a fault in the original version BIOS.
I agree with the others. I have the same board and i use bios vers. 1203. A very stable board and bios here.
The good thing is it's easy as pie to update the bios with the M2n-sli but i wouldn't.. unless you absolutely have to.
tyvm for the advice now i gotta do some research on setting up my system for 8 gigs of ram. ive read ill have to adjust some timings and voltage when using 8 gigs.
