[VISTA] Balloon tips, please help! :(

I've had my laptop for a while now (it is Windows Vista Home Basic, SP2), and recently I've started having an annoying problem with it. For the past week or so, there is no balloon tips appearing for low battery, so it just hibernates with no warning. However, the icon changes... But of course, that's hard to keep an eye on all the time. :S


EDIT: The warning option is enabled in the power settings.
EDIT: My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L300

Any ideas how I can fix it, please?

Nope, I haven't. I will now though. I've searched Google and others have had this problem, but I've seen no solutions yet.

I don't have a laptop but I am wondering if you have a bad battery that is not recharging properly and going into hibernation without warning.
How old is your laptop?
