Vista Business (x32) DVD drives disappear

MY CD / DVD drive just gone. I try copying a series of
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]

on a pad with reg.run at the end but Im not sure how the registry read it. Someone post it a few years ago.


Anyone ?

Dont fool around with the registry. If you know when the problem occurred, go back a few days more and use system restore.

If system Restore fails to fix the problem set a new restore point and try this.

press Windows key and R
Type regedit, and then click OK.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
In the right pane, click Upper Filters.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
In the right pane, click Lower Filters.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
Exit Registry Editor.
