Vista Clean Installation

Hi,

I am attempting to re-load my Vista Home Premium 64 bit and I am stuck and need some help, I have gone through most of the process until just after it copies all files, installs features and updates etc. It then restarts and it then hangs on a black screen with the message 'Please wait while windows sets up your computer'. But nothing happens no matter how long I leave it. There is no sign of activity.

Any hints or tips would be gratefully received.

Hello phil21,
What prompted you to reinstall Vista, and is this a reset to factory defaults, or is it a full format and reinstall with a Vista disk ?.

Hi

I have had a lot of problems recently which prompted me to clear out all the junk by re-load my original Vista disk, it all looked ok at first but now cannot seem to get past the hung screen, if I try to reload again it still stops at the same place. I have to admit I am rather a novice at this and am wondering now if I went down the right path.

Read my post, above. In addition, try removing all from the compter except mouse, keyboard and monitor.
