Solved Vista disk drives

Hi I'm hoping that some kind person can help me aid a sick friend, who is constantly having trouble with his Vista Laptop.

His Vista 64 System details states that his 'D' drive is full, on going to the System properties through the system protection HIS 'D' drive it has been ticked, and it appears that any downloads that are automatic are loading onto the 'D' drive.

On viewing my own Vista Basic,the same way my 'C' drive is ticked, and I do not have any problems
Can any clever person explain why.....in simple language

Hello Maragaret, and welcome to Vista Forums.

He has his System Restore points being saved to the small D: Recovery partition instead of the main C: drive. As you pointed out, you will just need to check the C: drive option and uncheck the D: drive. That should solve the problem for you and him.

Hi Shawn, Thank you so much.....I tried to explain this to the Comp Engineer(repair man) and he could not understand so I have copied the systen page (mine & his) to Word..and will take your reply and my copies with me. The gent in question is seriously ill and I thank you on his behalf. Nice to know that my seventy old brain is still working. Thanks again
