Thanks for the link. I did the same and contacted MS CC but they asked me to arrange Media+SrNo and Media must be of the same SrNo. Otherwise, I will not be able to downgrade. It's hard to get these two togather now a days as WinXP was outdated around 2 years back.

Poor me but I have to switch back to Vista though, I never wanted to do so. Win 7 also not a great plateform but yes better then Vista. But, I do not want to wast my hard earned money anymore.

Please let me know if there's any other way out to downgrade to XP. I will be highly obliged.

No there isn't.

Vista/Win7 are entirely different programs then XP. You have to buy a co$py of XP. Also, you have to then have all the drivers too, which is the hardest part.

BTW Both Vista and Win7 are way better OS than XP. You just need to tweak the system up for how you want to use it.
Those articles Rich linked to are not any use if your have a prebuilt system that is near new, as most companies do not make drivers for the hardware.

Thanks for your prompt reply Patonb I also felt like that Vista and Win 7 are better then XP that is why I purchased Vista Ultimate. But, I think they are better on papers only and not in day-to-day working. Following are few major problems with Vista and Win 7:-

1) File/Folder Copy is damn slow as compare to XP;
2) Formatting is of great concern as it works like digging tunnel through Himalayas;
3) File Explorer is hard to keep desired settings and keeps changing I do not know why;
4) Vista and Win 7 slows down drastically with time;
5) Most important XP is as simple to understand and use as even kids can handle. But, Vista and Win 7 are big pain. We use application to help us and not for pain;
6) As far as tweaking is concern I fail to understand why we need to do this at all for simple day-to-day working. Do we need to be software expert to use OS? If so, it's better to switch to Unix as it's more powerful and stable system;
7) Vista and Win 7 keeps crashing every now and then. But, yes They have much better GUI but who cares about face if figure is out of shape.

So, my conclusion is XP is reliable and trusted like Wife and Vista and Win 7 are beautiful like Girl Friends.

-Peace

What are your specs? I shoulda asked that firstly, as yha the new os are slow on "older" hardware.

You have your valid reasons so I'm not gonna say you need Vista. If you need the XP, you should ask people you know as many may not be using their XP anymore
