hi this is a new computer i did have a little problem so this morning i did a upgrade over the claen install that i made when it was new .
i have a sdd 128 gbs .after the clean install and all the window update done i had 90 gbs left .
now after the vista install over the first one all i have left is 76 .
so there a way to unnistall the first vista install .
or do i have to format the ssd drive and start all over again .
by the way i did not creat partition .

What else does is show in the "Files to delete" box in Disk Cleanup when you scroll down a bit more?

In addition, please go ahead and post a screenshot of your Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) window to see if the missing space may show up here as a misconfigured partition or unallacated space.

Yeah, it was mostly to see if you had any other large size items in Disk Cleanup listed for Files discarded by Windows upgrade, Previous Windows installations, or Windows upgrade log files.

In addition until we see Disk Management, you might also check to see if you may have the C:\$INPLACE.~TR and/or C:\WINDOWS.~Q folders. If so, you could safely delete them to regain space since they are just unusable left overs from the previous installation.

Nope, don't see anything in Disk Management for the loss of space.

You might also check the items in the tutorial below to see if it may help reveal what is using the HDD space. Option One for WindDirStat is a good one to try first.

i did updrade vista this morning because a lot of time i could not open control panel .
all it was doing is flash that was it .
since i install vista on thursday .then all the update i was done on fryday .
but it been acting funny all that time .
so this is why this morning i had nothing to loose by upgrade it .
now if that don't work i will format and start all over .
or wait for my 250 raptor to come in next fryday and use it then take that little ssd drive out of there .but it a 6 gbs also .now i know what to get but it to late .
this board is a brand new ddr2 but only sataiii 3 gbs .but my big computer have sata iii 6 gbs on the mobo
ssd drive are fast only if they run on 6 gbs .or buy a sata iii 3 gbs not a 6 gbs
if they only run on 3 gbs a raptor cant not be any slower to me .
so right now my ssd drive is running on 3 gbs .so that mean about only haft the speed that is made for .
my big computer is really close that the ssd speed and it is only a wd 500 black carviar 32 mb .7200.

That's something you'll need to look through to see what is using the HDD space. I will not be able to easily tell with just screenshots. :(

That's no problem. If you like, post the rest of Disk Cleanup with it scrolled down more to see if it has some large size items in it.

From the WinDirStat screenshot, it looks like you may have the C:\$INPLACE.~TR and/or C:\WINDOWS.~Q folders that can easily be just deleting them or checking Files discarded by Windows upgrade in Disk Cleanup.

You could safely delete these two C:\$INPLACE.~TR (if there) and/or C:\WINDOWS.~Q 4.1GB (WinDirStat shows you have it) folders.

Fist disable hibernation if you don't use it: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/165508-hibernation-enable-disable.html Then you can run that hibernation clean up that you saw. Second you can decrease page file size: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/132201-virtual-memory-paging-file-change.html I recommend setting the minimum to at least a gig (1024 mb) and the max to at least 2 gig. Third follow Brink's instructions on removing the temporary installation folders as well as looking for the windows.old.

Those folders should be in the root directory of C: as soon as you open C. If you don't see them, then set to have hidden folders to be seen to see if you see them afterwards.
