Vista installation error!

If you put vista install.wim in the sources folder of win7 installation media it will install vista

but because
i do a dualboot with xp and 7 x86

you dont need to.

You can do it from within win7 x86

1. Create a separate partition big enough for vista and format it ntfs

2. Apply the image from the vista install.wim to that partition

an easy way to apply the image is with gimagex

3. use bcdboot command to add a boot menu entry.

For example if you applied the vista image to partition E

open an admin command prompt and type

bcdboot E:\windows

(then press enter)

GREAT IDEA! I’ll try that! (Edited because SIW2 told me I can do it in Windows 7)

Ok. I have a question connected to this one. I keep trying bcdboot but IT DOESENT ADD THE BOOT FILES. note, I have turned show hidden folders ON

Boot.PNG
Edit: Chatgpt says I must have:
F:\Windows\System32\winload.exewinload.PNG
F:\bootmgrX
F:\Boot\BCDX
F:\Windows\System32\config\SYSTEMsystem.PNG
F:\Windows\explorer.exeExplorer.PNG

DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA TO REASON AND SOLUTION???

edit, again: ok, chatgpt told me, bcdboot wasnt working, or the source is damaged. But you can still update me on solutions

edit 4: not even bcdboot was working

update: ACCESS WAS DENIED
