Vista installation error!

I might be wrong but I think there should be a Secureboot option. You might try disabling it before you perform an installation.

Update: Creating a backup disk for windows 7 to try to restore it if something goes wrong (im formatting, look at post 19 for more info)(didnt realize this mystery took us 3 pages and 44 posts and still isnt solved yet)

It happens. Don't know what happened to SIW2. You can try messaging him. There's one more setting in the BIOS (UFI or something like that) that might help. I'm going to have to go into the BIOS and check it out. Also, is the BIOS set for booting a disc first, if an optical drive is attached?

yeah, an also, it has a boot order. While youre going to bios, chatgpt and i are going to try to guess and create solutions.

The UFI I was thinking of was UEFI which is your secure boot. There's another setting, perhaps ACHI for Sata which should be enabled for an installation but if you enable ACHI on a installed operating system it will disable it. So, I don't know what that would do to your Win 7. Don't mess with it. Somewhere in this forum there's a thread on the BIOS setting for installation. I would need to look for it but don't have time right now.

oh, I will be the one to look for it. Plus, i think 7 will just fine, but idk, never looked at ahci for a very long time.
