Since my Vista is broken , I'm using Linux to recover my data from the hdd and try to make a bootable Vista DVD to make a clean Vista install . As a first timer on Linux , it's not going to be easy hehe .

If this works , I owe you a beer

I have put a copy of my Retail Vista disc on dropbox
It has all versions but you can only use the version that you have a key for.
It does not have any service packs on

Would like to get link for the download if possible. Working on a friends laptop with vista home basic and HDD crashed and no backup copy of the program to reinstall after new HDD installed.

If you are doing a clean reinstall, you are much better getting the iso with SP2 already included.

x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit)? In order to get the ISO to you we need your email address, munged of course to prevent abuse, as in xyz AT abc DOT com .

No links should be published here to prevent servers being swamped should a Google Search grab hold of them.

Right-click Computer on your desktop or in the Start Menu and select Properties. That will tell you which version it is, 32 or 64-bit.
