And in case my hard drive dies, will I be able to install this same Vista (with the same key) on another hard drive (or pc) using this installation file? Thank you in advance!

Yes, the key decides which version installs as the email states. If you put in a new hard drive then it will install OK but you may have to use the phone activation method to call Microsoft and explain the situation in order for it to activate. That maybe a problem as they no longer support Vista.

I for one am very grateful for what you do for us Vistanites,I have just brought an old Toshiba satellite back to life hopefully,It did not see its own hard drive to start but thats sorted now,It currently does not have any OS on it at all but originally came with Vista Home premium I have the code.I was hoping you may have a 32bit vista home premium to get me started again.Hope you have a good Day/Night.


PS Do I need to do anything else other than burn to Disc "Thanks"

Hey guys I need help if possible, my bro gave me his old toshiba laptop with vista home premium 64bit in order to reset it back to each original state. I did all fine but it is summer time and it shut down/overheat nearly the 90% of the process. Since i couldnt access the hidden partition with f8 button, no option for it.

I search for vista iso and I download one retail version, it perfectly installed but its not the correct version and I cannot activate it, I must get the OEM version for Toshiba.

There is some good news though, I checked through admin tools/computer management/control panel if the hidden partition is still there and it is there! healthy 1.46gigs (flagged as EISA partition 1.46gigs). But there is no way to access it!

Is there any way to do it? Is there any iso for TOSHIBA OEM home premium edition? It is the greek/english version but its ok if someone can give me english, I can turn it into greek if it needed.

Toshiba website is not supporting this laptop any more, it couldnt even recognize the serial number lol.

I can email you a link to my private Cloud stored ISO of Vista w/SP2 x64 - it's universal ISO so covers all versions except Vista Enterprise..
It's good for the following:
Windows Vista Home Basic
Windows Vista Home Premium
Windows Vista Business
Windows Vista Ultimate
I would just need your email address which you can post disguised as an e.g. abc AT xyz DOT net.
As far as the OEM part goes any ISO which is x64 is fine as it's your Vista product key that decides what version is installed and OEM simply means it is attached to that machine and as long as there is no hardware change (new hard drive for instance) it will activate fine.
It used to be that you could phone Microsoft if you ran into activation problems. Well you still can but whether or not they will cooperate with a now unsupported OS is another matter.

I could try it!! I am also a student and I have access to OnTheHub for free goodies, but they only give win 8 that is HORIFIC and windows 10! They removed windows 7.. sad.

In the end of the day I could purchase him a windows 10N version for free. His laptop is L300D-10B with 4gigs of ram and my only fear is, all those monitoring stuff by microsoft may be very heavy for a laptop...? I can deactivate them but microsoft secretly activates them with updates, to much resources drained for monitoring.
