Vista ISO download

Is there no better way than brandishing my email address around on the forum? Even with obfuscation it still sits uneasy with me.

I have a an older Acer laptop with Vista I'd like to use with Netflix in the lounge. The bare Vista Home Premium is showing as taking up 32GB so I suspect there is more there than needed -- or wanted!!

I'd like a fresh .iso and I understand your situation by not advertising links here, but I am feeling the same about advertising my email, even for a short time.

I'd be happy to host the files on my private website, (free of course) so maybe you would like to PM me and we can work out a plan for restricting download access to the site. I can create a protected Folder for them and change the password weekly. Or maybe even after every access. It doesn't seem like you are getting that many requests so after every access would probably be OK by me.

These are my Technet ISO's and technically I'm not supposed to share them, but that proviso really meant not to share them and the accompanying keys. The latter of course would be your own key and that decides what build you get installed. You can disguise your email ...e.g. abcd AT xyz DOT com. Once downloading you can come back here and edit it right out of the post. These ISO's have the added advantage of including SP2 whereas most available downloads only include SP1. So I'm sorry no sharing without an email. If private messaging worked for newcomers it would be best, but that's not an option for new members.

Thanks for the prompt reply. That confused me for a second as I am not a newcomer to these forums, but then I realized that I am a newcomer to the Vista part of this forum-group but not so for win7 (98 posts) and win8 (also 98 posts).

Soooo, if you too are a member of the win7/win8 sections, a PM where I (CarvedDuck) do have PM privileges would be appreciated?

Thanks, it was x86, but moot now, methinks I will pass. I clicked the "Download with Browser" button as instructed and the DL site wants me to install their down-loader or browser extension, yeah, I'll get right on that! Trust must be earned.

I'll call Acer and see if I can get a repair CD as the built-in recovery partition is toast.

You clicked the wrong download button. The download through browser should not insist on installing anything, if it asks I am pretty sure you can refuse it and still continue with the download. I just tested it and didn't see that at all.
Besides Mega is a trustworthy site.

I need to upgrade someones old XP professional computer to windows 7 professional while keeping a certain piece of software installed, which means I have to upgrade through Vista Business 32 bit. I seem to have misplaced my vista disks. While I have found a few iso's online, they have either been the wrong version, don't give the option to choose upgrade (seems to be sp2 versions), or were hacked ones that I wont use (they would offer the upgrade but since hacked I am not going to use).

Just wanted to say thanks, I upgraded the computer from XP to vista then 7 with the software they had installed still working.

It took a while for the mega downloader thing to start the download (I just left it over night and that seemed to do the trick), as for a few hours it just sat there waiting.
