Hi all. This is my first post.
It's a really long story, but here's the summary. I installed Windows 7 over Vista, and I have a couple old games that ran way better on Vista than 7. So, I want to reinstall Vista using the provided recovery disks using my laptop, and then set up 7 as a dual boot. You know, have Vista for those games, and have 7 for everything else.
I have an Asus G51VX-RX05, which also is referred to as simply G51VX (Best Buy). Yes, I've heard it a million times, don't buy a computer at best buy. I know, I know. I won't do it again, I promise.
So I want to use the provided recovery discs from my laptop to reinstall Vista. When I was installing 7 over Vista, I followed this:
Clean Install Windows 7 - How to Perform a Clean Installation of Windows 7 - Part 1 of 3
So, as you can see from reading the tutorial (step 10 of 34), I went to Windows 7 advanced driver options, deleted the partition with Vista (there were 2 partitions on my laptop, the main one with Windows, and some little 100MB recovery partition). I then proceeded to install 7.
Can I put in my recovery disc and do it the exact same way? Like go to advanced driver options, delete everything on my HDD, and put Vista back on? That would be awesome if I could. Then, after getting Vista up and running again, I can set up the dual boot with 7.
Thanks for any help anybody can provide me. And if I put this in the wrong category, sorry about that.
