Vista password problems

I've not used my laptop in about 3 months, but I was trying to use it today to restore my phone. I'm pretty sure I kept the same password and haven't changed it.

I've tried every single password but it won't work. I have tried pressing F8 and going into safe mode, when I go into safe mode it doesn't come up with the administrator account it just comes up as normal and doesn't let me log in with my password.

My laptop is windows vista home premium.

See here: How to Change the User Account Password if Unable to Login to Windows

It's for Windows 7 but works for Vista as well. You just need a Vista install DVD instead of a Windows 7 install DVD.

If you don't have a Vista install DVD, post here and ask Peter (Ex_Brit) to send you the link to the versions of Vista you need, 32 or 64. Include your E-mail address mucked up, like abc at xyz DOT com then edit your post and remove it as soon as you receive the link.

The ISO Peter provides has both SP1 and SP2 applied.

STEP THREE
To Create Vista Installation DVD or USB Flash Drive with ISO File

Don't install, just follow the instructions Dinesh provided in the first link above.

I need a vista 32 link please.

Hi acelee:

Please read James81's 27-Sep-2023 topic Update Windows Visa Home. I believe post # 29 of that topic has a link to a 32-bit Vista ISO file (English) that is slipstreamed with Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 plus all ~220 updates released before the end of Vista support on 11-Apr-2017.

Just FYI, you should not post personal information like your email address in this public forum. If you need to share this type of private information with another user it's much safer to send them a direct message [i.e., to click the Conversations (envelope) icon located at the top-right of each forum page].

Hi wither 3 :

I don't know acelee's exact requirements, but I thought the 32-bit ISO I suggested was intended for home consumers (English only) . You are the person hosting SIW2's slipstreamed 32-bit ISO (Vx862021 32 bit from SIW2 nov2023.iso) on your MEGA.nz repository so you will have to tell us what editions of Vista SP2 this ISO can install.

The link I provided <above> re-directs users to your 24-Nov-2023 post # 29 in James81's topic Update Windows Visa Home. As far as I know the slipstreamed ISOs that SIW2 created in Aug 2020 (the 32-bit Vx862020.iso and 64-bit Vx642020.iso) were English language only, included all updates for Vista SP2 released prior to the end of extended support on 11-Apr-2017 (except the .NET Framework 4.5.2), and included all Vista editions for personal computers (except the special "N" editions released for the European Union that did not include Windows Media Player). What changes, if any, did SIW2 made to the 32-bit and 64-bit ISOs you've posted on your own MEGA.nz repository?

I'm not aware of any changes made by SIW2 to those files. My apologies for not clicking on your link. We'll need acelee to tell us what is needed.
