Vista performance issues

I poked around HP and some other forums for a parallel to your issues. Most of the problems people were reporting were occuring with the new Core i7-950 CPU's on this Pegatron Truckee mobo IPMTB-TK UL8E v1.03. You don't have this type of cpu but you could have the same make of motherboard for AMD cpu's (made by Asus for OEM's specs).
If it turns out to be a mobo problem, try updating the BIOS for your AMD processor.

As whs stated, "Observe it for a while and let us know how it went. Since each case is different, it is also useful for us to have as many inputs as possible."

@ Barnabas & mitchell -

I will check to see what model my motherboard is and then update the driver, as well as the BIOS driver. Thanks for the input. I'll let you guys know the outcome.

I would only consider doing the Bios update if it addresses the problem you are experiencing as Bios flashing can be risky and there is a number of things you need to put in place before proceeding

I don't quite understand what you are saying here.

Don't do the BIOS driver update until, I have already done the Motherboard driver update, and the problem is still occurring?

Sorry if you go to the HP link and select your computer and model number (HP Pavilion Elite ???) it will then get you to select your OS . amongst the updates there may be a bios update if you select it and scroll down to the bottom it will tell you what problems it addresses. If it does not address the problem you are experiencing i personally would avoid doing a bios update as they can be risky if not executed properly! As far as the other driver updates go for it if you wish it is just the bios one i have concerns as i see so many of them going wrong in other forums. I hope this helps

Americano, I have to go now but if you do require a bios update i would request you seek out more advice than just my own (possibly repost for advice on the procedure) as i am no expert but the ones i do know are;

Unplug any devices
Disconnect from the internet
reset bios back to default settings
disable anything that may block antivirus/malware/firewall etc.
make sure your power source is stable

best wishes
