Solved vista reinstall

I reinstalled vista and upon completion I found all my
microsoft mail contacts and itunes library were gone.
Did I lose everything or is there a way to retrieve
my lost items?

If you did not back them up before your reinstallation then there is no way to retrieve these files. These files are stored on your system and are wiped upon reinstall.
