Solved Vista SP2 Install failed "Unspecified Error"

Hi

I had Vista home premium installed on a PC, it got infected with Malware so I had to do a clean install, I did this following a format.

I installed SP1 then went to install SP2 but the install did not run, instead I got an error box saying "Unspecified Error" there was no error number.

I went thorough the whole process again including downloading the SP2 install file again but I got the same error.

This PC has only one hard drive and is not yet connected to the internet.

Hopefully I can get some help with this.

Hi

Problem solved, I found a 20G partition on my hard drive that must have had recovery software on it, I formatted that partition and SP2 is now installing.
