I had a Athlon XP 3800+ dual core and that wasn't too terribly impressive.

there is no such AMD processor as an XP 3800+, that does not exist townsbg.
do you mean Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (which is the dual-core version)?
there's also an Athlon 64 3800+ but that one is single core instead.

need to check very carefully on that one
